I just wanted to state my amazment at how differently the 600s handle.
As most of you know, I had a 2000 GSX-R 600 (thus my screen name, DUH) but I recently replaced it with a 2000 R6. This was the first time I'd been on an R6 (when it was moving, I've drooled on them many times in showrooms) and I was immediately blown away by the difference in handling. At slow speeds especially. I'd ridden new and old CBRs, GSX-Rs, Interceptors and a 1997 Yamaha YZF-1000 So, it's not like the Gixxer was my only bike. But the R6 has such a different feel to it.
Anyway, I had about a 85 mile ride home so I got a chance to ride all kinds of roads and I must say, "WOW" I absolutely love this thing!! It gets a little "nervous" (as the mags would put it) in bumpy corners but that is my only complaint!! And hell, a steering damper shuold clear that up.
So, I guess I'll ask. What accounts for the extreme difference in handling characteristics when all these bikes have similar wheelbase, rake angle, bar height, weight, etc?

Okay, I'm done now.

Hell yeah!!

Even if you are one of those insane Harley lovers...YES ride the gixexr. It's a totally different experience than the R6. It's worth it, if for no other reason, for experience. :)
