For you SLACKASSES who didn't show, and those who were applicants/probates, here are the minutes from the August meeting of GTR. :twofinger

The meeting commenced with sign-in. The following members/associate members were in attendance: Carey (saturntangerine), Pete (UglyAngelX), Mike (mfield2a), Pat (mmmbarley), Wade (cstmgsxr), Freddy (QuickCoCo1), Roy (KLRBE), Bill (Jeep), Heidi (R6CycleGal), Dave (MADBUSA2002... even if he was late)

It was decided by majority vote that the minutes from the previous meeting are not to be read. Unfinished business can be discussed first after sign-in.

Additionally, by majority vote, it was decided that those people who apply for membership to GTR will be considered on their probationary period IMMEDIATELY upon receipt of their application.

Next we voted on the probates and applicants. The following is the results of the majority vote:

Probates/Applicants voted to full membership:
Chuck (chuck sartoris)
Chad (blazeword)
Doyle (WORM)
Ernie (erndoggy)
John (JBpgh)
Jon (AV8OR)
Dave (DeaPee)
Andy (GSXRcraazy)

Probates/Applicants voted to probation (extended or initial):
Nick S. (batman)
Adrian (superman01ninja)
Jamie K. (HONDA RC51)
John (Jcustomcue)
_____ (dudeIgotabusa) --> sorry, don't have real name on file

For those who have been extended on probation, you may need to get more riding in with either road captains or members of the executive board. Several people have not introduced themselves and ridden with enough members of GTR for us to make a decision on your riding style. Please do not feel discouraged, as this is strictly for everyone's safety.

Probates/Applicants voted out:
DJ Poletti (asked to have application withdrawn)
Mike Sr.
Mike Jr.

If you fall under this category, chances are that VERY few members know who you are in any way, shape or form. As the by-laws stand right now, those voted out may reapply in 90 days. Please contact a member of the Executive Board, especially the Vice President as he is specifically in charge of membership, if you have any questions.

Next on the agenda was deciding upon a domain name for the group. By majority vote, "goldentriangleriders.com" was chosen as the official web domain name. The decision to have the main page as a flash intro with various pics of the group, ending with the turning GTR badge was also made. Lastly, the coin phrase "Knee down, Finger up" was chosen for the group to represent our riding style and attitude.

VP Freddy has posted the "job opening" for a PR person on the board. Please apply with Freddy if you are interested.

A few decisions were made regarding the "Underwear Ride" on September 4, 2003. Members participating will meet at the Clark Building in the Tribune Review parking lot to disrobe and begin the ride. The "publicity" for this event will take place at this point. The Tribune Review as well as several local news stations are interested in the story. Bill (Jeep) is to draw up the official riding plan that will parade through the Strip District, South Side, and eventually end us on Mt. Washington at the usual meeting place. The official time was not set. Please PM Carey (saturntangerine) if you want to "register" for this ride ASAP.

Lastly, the decision was made for the next location of the GTR monthly meeting to be set in Monroeville area. Since no members from the eastern group showed for this meeting, those members present have decided that the exact location will be chosen by the road captain of the area, Jeremy (Crammer), by next Friday. If that is not completed, alternative measures will be taken.

In reference to the undie ride...

I forgot to bring that up at the meeting. I'd like to set the raindate for Friday, September 5th in the event of rain. Other options can also be considered, since the city will likely be busier on a day like Friday than Thursday.

You gonna put up another thread (Maybe a sticky Pete???) about all the info? (Start time, date, route)

(I should have the route planned by Friday at the latest... I am still trying to get the escort (if possible)

Look in the yellow pages.
Nice... wrong type of escort (Besides, JB_Pgh says the ones in the City Paper are better...clean and tested!)

I was trying to recruit us a police (motorcycle) escort or two.... Don't know if that is going to happen though... The call is in...

I am sure that will happen.
They laid off cops and the cops are protesting the city, you think they are gonna do that?

Maybe you can call in a favor. :twofinger

I know a few guys in what was traffic, they all ride the bikes... I know I can get at least one of them, if not two or them to do it... but they need to run it by the supervisor - this is where the problem comes into play...
