GPZ550 owners

Does anyone have an owners manual for any year Kawasaki GPZ550? They are all pretty similar, so any year model will do. I'd like to get a photo-copy if you do. I have an '83 that I'm restoring and I sure would like to get a copy of the original owners manual. I have a Haynes manual that I'm using to restore the bike, but it's really skimpy on operation, plus I'd like to see what the factory recommended for maintenance back in the '80s.

Thanks,
Eric

I still have one (I think, have to look). It is in rough shape though. If I remeber right, I left it on the hood of the car in the winter, drove off... it blew off into the ditch near home... snowplow pushed it in the ditch and it was found in the spring.. I think it's torn up and some pages are missing, but there is alot left in OK shape. Now if I only knew where I put it????
:D
Hey, I sure would like to get a copy of that if you can find it.

Let me know and we'll see if we can work something out to get it copied.

Thanks,
Eric
I'll see if I can find it tonight.. Pretty sure it's in a box in my garage, just not sure which one... When I find it I'll let you know how much of it is good yet etc.. and can just run a copy of the pages.. I was going to tell you to watch Ebay also.. There was one not to long ago that went with a couple other parts, I didn't bid and missed the end of the auction :(

Also if you are interested, (I picked up one already), but there is a guy on Ebay that has the original Dealer brochures for the bike.. kinda nice to have.

BTW.. I've been the sole owner on my gpz.. bought it new in '86 and still drive it now.. coming up to 60k miles on it.. I just took a couple pics of it last week when I had it out for a ride.. I'll have to post them here..

your sig says yours is restored to 'fomer glory' and is still a dog??? can't be that bad.. I had mine dynoed a year or so ago and still got 51hp at the rear. (I have a Kerker and K&N stage 3 kit on it) Sure it's not the 130 crank HP of the BMW.. but for an '83 with 60k on it, it goes good yet

Oh, I'm just down on it right now because I've got new bike fever. Mine was in REALLY POOR shape when I got it ($600) and I've since painted and tuned and got it back to about 90% of where it should be for an almost 20 yr old bike.

I have to admit it really comes alive above 5500 rpm.

I wanted a project bike and I got it with this one, but now I want something new.

How do you like your BMW? I looked at an R1100S and it really looks pretty sharp, but dang, I think they wanted like $9 grand.

Oh well, let me know if you find your manual and I'll reimburse you for copying and postage.

I never thought about ebay, I'll have to search through there and see what's available.

Thanks,
Eric
