6+ months of looking and I finally landed on the right one.
2000Ninja EX250 for my first bike purchased 3-29-08

I love it. and just ordered my other gear today. Already rode it around a little bit on campus w/ 20mph speed limit. Took it off campus and put it up to 45mph and got scared so ima b riding it in circles around the nearby lot until my MSF course next week and my gear arrives.

Ive never had a bike before, and the little 250 is fast. I cant imagine an r6. or gixxer600(my dream). Im just really excited. Its so hard not to get on and ride around but im not tryin to split my head open netime soon :burnout:

Congrats and welcome

The MSF will be a godsend for alleviating a lot of that fear, as will your gear. Mind telling us how much you picked up the bike for?

PARK THAT THING TILL YOUR GEAR GETS IN!!!! You'll get the hang of it in no time, especially when you get the MSF under your belt. Good choice on a first bike. Welcome to SBW

Nice step with the bike, good second step with the protective riding gear coming in & third smart step is the MSF Course. That is good thinking right from the start---nice to read about to become new m/c riders with their heads screwed on correctly.

:cool:I got the bike for $1500. Was a nice deal, has some sun dmg and the gas tank was dented but i got it checked and its not cracked on the inside. Its old as shit but w/e.

Ya i rode it twice w/ a pair of oakleys as my only gear and decided...not smart. So I borrowed a friends spare helmet and jacket and now I dont mind riding to class so much. Especially since on campus is only 20.

Im not gonna lie to yall, I went out lookin for the MSF place so I didnt get lost the next time I went and brought it up to 70mph, was the best feeling I think i've ever had on a vehicle. I used to race cars but since college happened I dont have money to spend on that hobby.

My roommate has a scooter and that thing weighs like 200lbs so its nothing to turn. I'm havin a time getting used to the xtra 150-200lbs of the bike. And I bought it with a muzzy so its louder than some of the 1k bikes around here. so Im a happy guy atm lol
