Britten? Whats that? If it was anything like the ASP it can't be to bad. Did anyone see pictures of the ASP? It had what looked like a front and read swingarm. Really bizzare but cool. One of the British mags had a write up and pictures. One picture was with a scantily clad girl, Kelly Brown. I just remember cause she spent 6 months on a med cruise with me in my bunk. Man what a nice bike!

Britten? It is only one of the badest bikes ever made. The creator was john britten, he made the bike entirely from scratch. He cast the engine cases and other parts, made the front forks out of carbon-fiber, fiberglass body hand made by him, in it's first race at daytona it cracked a cylinder sleave. He took the bike to AMI and welded the crack up because he couldn't find the parts to make a new one. The bike was right behind the fastest bike on the track(which happened to be a ducati) did a wheelie in mid stride and pulled away from the duck. It holds the recoed for the standing mile, 1/2 mile, 3/4 mile, and a couple other ones to. If i'm not mistaken, he died a couple of years ago from cancer. But, the bike was bad-as*.

Better to be a racer for a moment than a spectator for a lifetime.
So the bike broke down the first time it was raced?

the Britten is the baddest bike ever made. As an artist, I completely appreciate the beauty, craftsmanship, and engineering of the machine.
Yeah, it broke at it's first race....but it was completely a one of a kind, hand-built, hand-crafted, work of art. Imagine building something yourself in your garage, taking it out to race and immediately being on the verge of beating the world's best. I believe other models were made and have proven succesful racers, check out http://www.britten.co.nz/ for more info.
