What kind of bike did you get?

The PCIII and pipe were the first mods I made to my Gixxer. But mine was a slip-on. Still got about the same increase in power.

You are not that far behind, for I have a '97 Yamaha YZF600R with stock four carbs, but then I have a Honda 929 & 954 with FI, but have not added a power commander for neither bike demands it or seems to need it for me to hike up into the Cdn Rockie Mtns roads all those years.

In fact all three bikes are with stock exhaust systems to cans & all. The bikes do what I want them to churn out. Like why pay extra for noise or in mind extra power only, when it can be used to pay for fuel, oil, tyres, chains, sprockets, insurance & such???

The best modification you can get for your bike is your own education. Track schools are, IMO, optimal but pricey. The next best is MSF courses which are usually not that pricey and can lower insurance rates.

After that ensuring you have good quality gear is next on the list. For me other mods should be by necessity or to lower overall costs. For instance, I put on flush mounted blinkers. Not for looks, but on my first bike, the stalk-style always got bumped and popped off, causing me frustration and sometimes money.

Oh, there is one exception that I can think of. If your bike doesn't have frame sliders these should be FIRST (excepting gear and perhaps education).

you can squeeze a little more power out of them by just getting a pcIII and getting it dyno tuned. I personally would go with a full system.. Bout the same on the sport quads a slip on may help a little but a high end full system will out perform. I personally have duals on my raptor but i also put a stage 2 cam and 11:1 piston in it. I really like the PCIII over the other styles for mine. I bought mine from the cheapest place i could find. www.fuelmotousa.com was 259 shipped to my door and premappped.. im not sure on the street bike prices

You'll get maximum benefit if there is a map for your specific bike with the pipe that you have. Otherwise you can take it to a tuning center and they will put it on a dyno and run a custom map which will cost in the neighborhood of $200. But with the number of maps available, you can probably find one that will run just fine and give you better response and some more power.
