Buy good, plastic sliders. Don't buy metal or CF, they transfer too much of the crash force to the frame and can actually bend/dent the frame. There are lots of companies that make them... try Lockhart Phillips, they make a nice slider.

Good luck.

ps - do a search under "frame sliders," there have been a lot of conversations on SBW about this (and every other) topic.

I have went down with cheap frame sliders and they usually break off and do not do their job. Woodcraft makes great durable sliders for a pretty affordable price. Check them out at Woodcraft Frame sliders I would not go with anything other that these.

But even if they broke off they probably cushion the hardest impact.

Woodcraft has and intersting design but they don't make them for many bikes yet. You can also try R & G. I have personally crash tested those and they work well.

This is true! Even if the frame sliders do break off it is because they are absorbing the energy of the crash instead of the bike. Thank god for frame sliders. ;)
