Frame Sliders

I am interested in putting frame sliders on my F4. Do they increase/decrease resale/trade-in value? Where can I purcase them? Is it difficult to mount them?

I am pretty sure you have to drill holes in the F4's frame and bodywork to mount them. Am I correct? Are there any special tools required?

Has anyone saved their bike from being totaled utilizing the frame sliders?

See framesliders in the Tutorial section for good information.

My 49.95 L/P sliders saved me from having to buy a new tank, upper, mid lower, clutch lever, and mirror. The only damage I got was a scratch on my tail section and ground up my left side engine cover.

I did not have to drill or modify body work to fit mine on the bike.

I think they are well worth the investment and time to install.

Luckily, I have not had to use mine yet.

You will have to drill a hole in the fairing. But no, you don't drill in the frame. You use the longer engine bolt that comes with the kit.

And they will not change the value of your ride. :D :D

So you just screwed them right in? It was that easy? See any reason it wouldn't work on a '98? And finally, what brand are did you use?

You can buy them directly from Jeff at Intuitive Race Products. I think the website is www.inturace.com.

Depending onthe bike, you may not even have to drill the plastic. If you do, there is an excellent tutorial on this site.

On my YZF600, I actually modified the sliders themselves, instead of modifying the bodywork. Be creative.

You remove one large bolt on each side of the bike and replace with longer bolts inlcuded in the kit.

I used Yoshimura sliders in white. But beware, those bolts are engine mounting points and are very TIGHT with thread lock.

Be patient when you remove them or have some air tools. I luckily removed mine with a long "breaker" bar. They would be rather

Good Luck
