This should cheer you lot up before this weekend's MSS.

Went testing yesterday at Sepang South circuit with the Petronas and Shell Yamaha R6 FIM Asia 600 teams - proper paid riders with big transporters & stuff.

Fastest time was the legendary Kuan Meng Heng at 1:08.2 who promptly crashed big time and knocked himself out. No one else got under 1:09 in perfect conditions... FIM Asia race is 20th-22nd December - why not beg, borrow or steal a 600?

See you chaps this weekend.

What tyres ? Slicks ? Dunlop 208's ?

Do you think a 600 is at much of a disadvantage around the short circuit ?

Dunlop 208GPs - it's the control tyre for FIM.

Didn't think there was much in it between 600 & 1000 on the short track - starting to wonder now. These guys are not muppets, I've seen them doing 1:33s round Shah Alam.

On the other hand we definitely are muppets. Maybe things will hot up when the Japanese and Aussie riders turn up.

Don't get too excited about the contract, I think its about 300 ringitts per race, but you get a brolly bird, a transporter and a shiny new R6 to play with.

Yup we'll be there making arses of ourselves.

Haven't been to Shah Alam since August, when we were doing a miserable 1:40. But mucking about with the bikes since then our Sepang times have improved by about 3 seconds; I guess we'll never find out what that translates to at Batu Tiga.
