hey all! im looking at getting a sport bike pretty soon and i just had a few questions. i have had dirtbikes for awhile and know how to ride street pretty well. i am looking for a bike thatlooks good, and that can get goin fairly fast but not so much i am going to get into alot of trouble fast. i am 5'5" and about 140. do any of you know of a good bike for me to start on? i looked at the cbr600f4i and i kinda like it. is this a good bike? any others that are fairly similar? also, when i get a bike i plan on getting a full set of leathers and gear, any brands to kinda lean toward or stear clear of? i really have wanted a bike for awhile and am excited that i may soon be entering the sport. hope to hear from you all soon!

Stay away from liters. Dirt bike experience is helpful, but far from all you need.

Noone wants to spoil your fun or to see you hurt. Start slow on a used bike, build your skills, then get weird.

I'm telling you from experience here. Don't get a new bike. You will drop it, even if at a low speed. Learn in gradual increments.

P.S. Any dealers you may talk to are not looking out for your best interest. They want money, you have it.
Don't listen to a dealer when it comes to a good bike for a beginner. People on this site have much better advice than you'll ever get from a guy who makes commision and/or flat out doesn't give a sh*t.
