I am pretty well set on a used EX500 as a first bike, however the Katana 600 is much more available used by a wide margin. From my reading here and elsewhere the Katana is generally not recommeded as a first bike mainly due to it's "top-heavy" design. These are the two sportbikes I've sat upon that best fit my long legged, big footed and knee problem (torn meniscus) self. I've tried a SV650 and it's way too small for my frame, for reference.

Is that the most daunting issue on the Katana's use, top heavy? Power isn't an issue, I know full well there's a lot of room between idle and WFO to stay sane within.

I'm sure discussion will bring about more questions.
