i guys I just got my bike dynoed and was really hurt
and mad. and that's putting it gently. So I'm trying to
get some feedback on stock zx9r 2000 dyno nubers from
others. My bike only pulled 118 ponies with 4th gear roll
on. So after you pick yourself off the ground from
laughing so hard maybe you can help me. I will say back
when I had the bike first service I was hearing an engine
noise and the dealership said that's what it's suppose to
sound like but after complaining more they did some
measurements on the right side of engine and they said
KAWI waunted them to re-sleeve it whatever that
means. I'm just wondering if I loss some engine
performance along the way. Because 1 I know anytime
you mess with a engine it's never the same. but I also
know every bike isn't going to run the same numbers. OH
yeah I followed the manufact. break-in. thanks.

Is that number "corrected"?
Don't get mad until you see the numbers from other ZX9's run on THAT dyno. A dyno is not exactly a solid state device, it needs to be calibrated on a regular basis. I'm betting it was not.

I pray that is not correct because I thought this bike was to have around 130 ponies at the rear wheel.I have not had mine run but I will very soon.

Well I have had engine noise (clicking) since I first got my bike. Then I had that electric wiring harness problem that Qclub13 had and to tell you the truth, I thought that this bike should have more power. I really want to put my bike on a dyno. The dealers are no help. They also tell me that the bike is supposed to sound like that. I guess I will just extend the warranty and hope for the best.

Unfortunately your not alone. :(

Fella's, dyno figures need to be taken in context first make sure the Dyno you go to has an operator that knows what he is doing.

Second find out when the Dyno was last calibrated, does the Dyno have a ram air system? What were the weather conditions at the time air temp humidity ect.

All these things have a huge bearing on the final figure, the guy that works on my bike runs the Suzuki race team in Australia and really knows his stuff.

He has a brandnew Dynojet Dyno that consistently reads lower than any other Dyno around so all reading are conservative corrected SAE rear wall HP.

Stock reading no [email protected] after a pipe and filter slight carby mods still very rich on [email protected]

Another interesting matter is the speedo and tacho both read high at 250kmh indicated actual speed 228kmh at readline 12500rpm actual 12000 these figure taken on dyno runs.

Engine noise, had the same from new and complained, told this was normal but the noise fades as the temperature reaches about 50+ c, funny how Kawasaki say they went to linerless plated bores for tighter clearances and a quieter engine?

But all things considered still a great bike to ride!
