Well, I didn't ride in today. Doom on me, I know, but I am trying to keep the miles off my bike while it is for sale.
Funny thing is, *yesterday*, in my parking garage's designated m/c parking area, there were twice the usual number of bikes. Today, there is half the norm. Damn Texas ******** must have thought yesterday was RTW Day.

If you ride without one and arrive home "100 pounds heavier," you're nuts.

Bro - If I can't get full traction. I mean
perfect, hot sticky traction - it's not worth
riding. I don't ride at night and I don't
ride in the rain (Well, Usually I don't
ride in the rain) Hehe.

I gotta agree with Chris on this one---damn that hurts . There are just too many reasons not to ride in the rain. Plus, it doesn't rain all that much here...and the cagers ride stupid rain or shine which makes it all the more dangerous. I'll save the $20 rain suit for when I get caught in the rain, but if it's gonna pour all day I'll just give my baby the day off--she deserves it . Also, makes the bike a real pain to clean after riding in the rain. To each his own I guess.
Real men (and women) ride rain or shine. A partial list: Carl Fogarty (world champ), Ardys Kellerman (grandma), Miguel DuHamel, Mike Kneebone, Kenny Roberts, Ed Culberson (RIP), etc.
My advice: buy a rainsuit AND a second bike so your CBR or whatever doesn't get messed up. Ride every day. Shun cars, buses and trains. Be among the few, the proud, the lunatics, the ones with the little flecks of white foam at the corners of their mouths that everyone avoids at parties. You know, like me.
I planned on riding yesterday to support the "ride to work day," but I wasn't able to ride for 3 reasons:
1. woke up really late, having to take the bike's cover, push it out of the backyard might worsen it to "you're fired" late.
2. weatherman said it was going to rain, and it did. I too don't like riding in the rain.
3. the day before, there was an accident involving a motorcycle on the same road i was gonna use, and my mother and sister were warning me about it.. i thought it was bad omen.
*with all these reasons, I left the bike home and just drove my trusty little crx.
yeah i know.. im a chicken. *bok bok bok bok bok*

Fogarty doesn't even like motorcycles.

Vypir--hasn't rained here since I got the bike-so I'll have to get back to you.
