I just took a look at a Prelude forum. It was pretty amazing how much they sounded like us: they talk about racing cars, talking trash to each other, and spending huge amounts of money for every incremental increase in performance. I know it takes all kinds, but it's funny how one's identity is wrapped up in what they drive. I really like my Prelude, but after all, it is just a car!

Scotty:

I couldn't agree with u more!! I have looked at forums for Camaros and get the same impressions u did.
But on a nice sunny day I'd take my bike over my Camaro any day for a fun ride!! :) :)

I agree...I am a member of www.Mustangworks.com, and it is just like here in lots of ways, people talking about the things they love!

I'm just like the next guy when it comes to
loving cars. In addition I have learned how
to wrench on them, do bodywork, suspension,
EFI modifications, you name it. But when I
really want to shred up the road and let it
all hang out, the keys to the car remain home.

Nothing is as free of a feeling as dominating
a sportbike. I love sliding all four wheels
in a cage but it just doesn't compare. Plus,
how cool can you really look with your
seatbelt on?? :D

Anyway - If I wanted the same power to weight
ratio my R1 provides in my car, it would have
to have 700 HP!!

Think about it!

I agree about wrenching on cars. I put a motor/tranny/exhaust in my car (and it only burns .5 qt per week!) but when you really want to go for a joy ride why take a cage? Before I started riding I was told there are two kind of people in this world. Those who ride motorcycles and those who wish they could. How many of you see a civic and think "cool car?" www.riceboypage.com

I frequent www.corvetteforum.com as much as I do this site. They have well over 10,000 members and the wealth of information has been priceless for me. The guys/gals on that board are really cool and pretty laid back (for the most part) as well. I definitely agree about the excitement factor of sportbikes though. I love my Vette to death and it is plenty fast (plus a person can look pretty good driving a cage like that ;) ), but nothing compares to the visceral exhileration of shredding on two wheels. When I really want to get down and fly, I'm on the bike. :D
