I am looking on buying another bike

Im stuck on two bikes:

The Firebolt, is what I am leaning more towards
- it has a sweet frame that doubles as a gas tank,
- the swingarm holds the oil
- it has better handling than any bike
- 1203 cc of V-twin power, 103HP and 85lbs of torque
- Power Stuntworx has a cage & 12 bar tailered for it
- comes stock w/ Pereli tires
- One of a kind, noone here stunts w/ this

The 636, realy clean look
- has tons of aftermarket sweets
- 636cc of inline 4 rage, 115 HP and 52lbs of torque
- Power Stuntworx has all the fixin's
- * Not as much appeasemant as the Firebolt *

I couldn’t really care less about popular opinion. Rather, I am looking for informed observations of the bikes themselves

get what you want and believe you will be happiest with, but i do need to correct you on a few thing, the buell does NOT handle better then any other bike, it is below most other bikes on power and is heavy with a lower redline then most also. but to each his own.

2 totally different bikes, have you rode either of them ? find a way to ride each of them then decide

This is a different animal. . . to put it simply

Yea but most dealerships dont test drive bikes

And right now none of the dealers are selling a 636 b/c they are a ''hot item'' as of now

This Monday, Im test riding a buell. . . I guess I will just have to do this myself, and make up my mind

personaly i dont care if i pissed you off, i was just giving you some facts like you asked. o by the way i have ridder the buell and i was very dispointed with it.

hella funny

Today I test rode the buell Firebolt, the dealership got a hand full with me

First, it had 8 miles on it

And I beated that bike through all its paces - went to race my favorit roads, Highway drive, and City worthyness

I took that damn bike to all my favorite roads. when I got back to the dealership, it was Three hours later, and 98 miles

The salesman called my phone 15 times, but I never noticed. He also called the police and declared it stolen

He was piss ass mad when it got there, but then he swalowed it down like a man, because he knew I was a potential buyer

F**king hilarios, 90 MILES . . . lol

One the roads, the bike turns great, but you are totally right,
- ''at slow speeds the steering is heavy." nimble but heavy
- tried to do fast evasive meanuvers on imaginary object - it didnt seem to want to get off its line
- the engine, thought has great pull, seems like the engine needs like 15-20 more HP
- the gas tank/frame got realy freaking hot - - I had to stand on pegs to dry myself off
- the clutch works, but needs work
- the power has lumps from the start, so you have to have a real soft wrist to get it moving smooth
- KEEPS PULLING HARD to top speed (I got to 123MPH)
- the shifter is bulky, you practically have to kick it to shift up
- in the CITY the clutch becomes a strain, and a little hard to pull
- one the roads I love, I was able to get the same cornering speeds that I have done on my ninja, and it was my FIRST TIME on the damn bike - how fast can I go with experiance
- the sound of the bike is attractive
- the gas tank/frame got realy freaking hot - - I had to stand on pegs to dry myself off = just making myself clear, DAMN HOT
- felt very confident and safe when turning - - if you like to carve the roads - get a buell

only with V-twins that you can get those power lumps
compared to a I-4, the engine has so much range, that the transmission is just born to be smooth

According to that article a 1914 royal enfield and a 1928 indian scout, both with springer front ends, drum brakes, and other old nastiness are better handling than a gsxr-750 or a ducati 999. Color me sceptical please.
Also, apparently the sv650s handles better than a z1000, and having ridden both bikes, I know thats crap.
The so called formula is a laughable excuse for research. Its not an article, its an advertisment.

IM GOING TO GET THE FIREBOLT !

it looks great, exotic, and fun to ride

and the work that it needs, will keep me busy & refreshed

Stuntworx has a cage, and all the works to make it well

But I have one questions. . .
you know how metric bikes have plastics, when you crash and lay it over, the plastics kinda of absorb the fall,

But with a buell all you have to fall on, is the vital organs of the bike (EG: frame, engine, valuables)

With a cage, it is still attached to the Vital organs of the bike, and even though it ''protects'' the bike,

When falling over all the energy, eventhough the bike lands on the cage, all the energy is still transfered through the cage to the vital organs of the bike: you can still bend the frame, break the engines case, and other shit-tola.

A cage, with frame sliders will help - - - because the frame sliders are not solid, they can bend, thus absorbing impact

Plastics dont do much to absorb the impact. They just break.

Most of the vital parts are pretty sturdy, and are not likely to get hurt in a minor spill. The cage/sliders will protect those that arent sturdy, IN A MINOR CRASH. If you crash bad enough to bend your frame and tear a cylinder from your block, the cage isnt going to help. In fact, you have more pressing problems of a medical kind to deal with.

Sliders do a pretty good job of protecting turn signals, clip ons, and mirrors which tend to break in most falls. A cage protects those and engine casings (which are thin) as well as offering some protection to the tank (which is really expansive).

When selecting a cage, pick one with plastic sliders on the sides (like freestyle inginuity cages, not like 905 cages) the all metal cages can catch and flip the bike over, making the damage worse.

I keep my bike protected with a FI cage that has a removable loop, which means I can change it into just two extended frame sliders in about 20 minutes. In addition I got swing arm sliders, and will probably be adding front axle sliders soon. All of this helps reduce the damage, it does not eliminate it.
