Agreed, bikes capable, work on technique. Why clutch up in 3rd anyway? Not baggin but are you looking to do super fast wheelies or what, if you like 3rd cause its more forgiving on throttle response then gearing is the last thing you should do, as it is to twitchy already, if its that you want speed, you should be able to coast 2nd gear wheelies on that bike at well above highway speeds.
