BOOM! Her F4 hits the ground.

Well, today my baby hit the ground for the first time. :( I was trying to be independent and not wait for TJ to help me navigate the grassy, sand-covered slope we were parked on. A friend helped me push the bike backwards up the hill, but when I got on it to ride it over to where we were going to park, I "heaved" it up too hard and got off balance to my right side. Down the bike went and threw me, my tank bag and jacket down with it. The bike fared better than I did. If you can imagine this, the bike does not have a single scratch on the fairings that I can tell! Whew! The only rock in the area hit the mirror and scratched the back of it but other than that, you'd never know it was down. My pride is hurt bad and so is my left knee.

Ahhhhh, it's great to be a girl and ride a sportbike. When you fall down and go boom, guys flock from all over to help you get up! ;) :p

Lesson learned. Next time, I wait for my husband to help me move the bike like he offered to in the first place.

We all have done that at least once in our lives. Your ego will be the hardest to recover from (at least mine was). My wife also is like you and refuses my help on some things (which is why I love her). Good luck on the knee!

Glad to hear the bike's okay! :D
Pitty mine didn't fair (right spelling?) as well when I was dumb enough to park in on the grass after it had been raining. Side-stand dug in and over she went. Big cracks in the fairing around the indicator. Was not a happy chappy. All welded up now, just needs some paint and stickers. :)

While I'm talking about it, anyone know why new plastic is so expensive?

Man you got lucky! We have all dropped a bike at one time or another and from reading other post on this it usually cost some bucks to fix (just ask TJ :) )

Too many curves...so little time
damn that sucks.

also it seems honda has the most expensive plastics.

i hear the whole r1 tail is only $90

Stacia,

Sorry to hear that. Get that knee iced down... Sept will be here in no time. ;) Glad it wasn't worse. I guess I don't need to ask how the races went.

Tony,

I think the new R1 rear sections are triple that now... something about having them built to withstand the force from an exploding wheel and not take the rider's ass off. :p :D

Stacia, sorry to hear about your bike going down. If you gotta drop it, it the grass is surely the way to go. Have to commend you on the personal sacrifice though--that's true love, diving under your bike like that. :)

Stacia, awesome luck! Sorry to hear about your bummed knee though; I hope it heels quickly. BTW, was it the same leg that took out the chicken? :D

Nice one Stacia. You must have felt like a real dork. Throwing bikes on the ground, killing chickens...what's next? I'm a little bit nervous about this trip in September. You'll probably catch the place on fire! :)

You're slow, and your mother dresses you funny.
Stacia,

glad that you and the bike did not suffer too much damage. hope that the knee heals fast enough. i guess it was good practice for getting the knee down in the twisties this september :D :D

good thing that you were in sand/grass and that saved cosmetic damage to the bike. :)

heal soon my friend.......

You were very fortunate about your bike not getting damage, but I'm really sorry to hear that you hurt yourself Stacia. Hope you heal quick and well. There wasn't snow on the hill was there? ;) Could maybe pass your knee off as a "ski" accident. ;) (Hey, it's snowing in the Southern hemisphere..... :))

A couple of people have said that we have all done that at one time or another. I'm not rubbing it in or anything... but it has never happened to me. :p

My VFR hit the ground 3 times but not due to me. ;)

Oh! Crap. Knock on wood. Whew, that felt... oh nevermind. :D

RCJohn,
Now that you said that your gonna be in for it! ;)

Have a fast recovery Stacia!

You get the best thrills on two wheels!
Was that at the Moroso races yesterday????, I was there and something like that happened to an F4.

You forgot to mention all of the foul words that came out of your little mouth after the accident...LOL

If that was you, I hope your knee gets better.

Are we there yet!
Yeah that was up at Moroso. I think Stacia kept the foul words to a bit of minimum or quiet. Just so she wouldn't draw too much attention to herself, and so that TJ wouldn't rag on her too much that day. She sure did draw a crowd of men to her aid.

Guys, don't you wish a crowd of women would run over to you when you did something silly like that.

Awwwwwwwwww Stacia,

That sux, but it sounds like the only real reminder
you'll have of the incodent is this post. Hehe.
I know how you feel, I guess you saw I dropped
my baby, standing still in the mountains. Hurt
her pretty good too. Issssss Ok! Happens to the
best... Like you and me. First time for me in
8 years... Urrrrrgggggggggggg!

Nope, it was the other one. Damn, if I break both legs, does that mean I have to ride one of those Goldwing trikes??

Clark, I didn't throw myself under the bike, the leg that was on top somehow was the one injured. Damned if I can figure out how, but it is much better today. Has a nice, green-brown-red-blue bruise! Purty!

Thanks, flaco and Tung!
both of you are smart asses and if I remember correctly, neither of you boyz bothered to help me! And the cuss words were flying until that guy said I was too dainty and frail and then I promptly shut up. Didn't want to hurt my "frail, dainty" appearance.

And Chris, you're lucky you only had Geoff to give you hell. I had a whole buttload of people that were there with us, Colin included. Wonder why he hasn't mentioned something smart yet! I'm sure he will.

Dont worry 'bout it. Sorry to hear that you got hurt. I just dropped my bike (the second time) the other night while trying to put it on the stand, it didnt get hurt cause it was already scratched, but I sure did feel dumb. :(

------------------
Stacia, glad to hear you and the bike were fine.

You were very lucky.

Back in Feb I dropped my F4 on it's right side in a parking lot doing about 0 mph when I slipped on some sand trying to turn around into a parking spot.

The 0 mph very slow drop on the right side still put lots of pressure on the front right turn signal as it got bent by the ground and the front fairing cracked right at the place where the right turn signal is, and that corner of the front fairing broke off...

I was later able to fix the fairing and paint it so the crack was nearly invisible, but it was a pain and it really would have been costly to replace that F4 front fairing.

Glad to hear you and your F4 fared much better.
