I personally like the black frames & swingarms on bikes such as the R7, RC51, and I believe it's the ZX-7R Kawasaki? I know a lot of people really like polished aluminum and this would head toward the opposite end of the spectrum. Opinions?

I am not the biggest fan of chrome/polished either.

I 2nd the black frame look. However, I do not have any ideas or suggestions on how to convert your frame either. Perhaps Krylon, just kidding.

seriously...I love the black frames. Is powdercoating an option? What about anodizing an aluminum frame? I read somewhere someone had done it, but it never came out right.
I like my bike's matte grey/silver as well. The black wheels are nice, easy to make look clean. I hate excessive polished/chrome stuff; just my personal taste.

Who pulled your chain? Black frames rule. I work on Raptors and ride a 51... I have to maintain a strong dedication to black frames. Sorry.

The krylon idea may not be that bad.

Yes i know even i would normally scoff at a statement like this, but honestly, i just got done painting a new helmet, and with the right prep work, ALOT of patience and a little wetsanding and clearcoats you CAN do a professional job with a rattle can.

Krylon makes an industrial automotive finish in a can u can find at auto paint supply stores. Use the same brand of acrylic clearcoat and you will have one very nice finish if done properly.

The toughest part is letting it cure for a week or two before reassembling things.

lol, good idea.

I like the black frames. If I get a chance to do the FZR 600/400 swap I was thinking of getting the frame done in black. I think it would give any bike a different look, hey anything that makes someone look twice is a good thing in my book (except for "the man" of course).

Well thats a horse -or rather- bike of a different color. IF its an ALL black bike, then the frame and swing arm might look really good blacked out.

I recently painted the frame on my YZF750 black. Got tired of trying to keep the polished look up. Used a spray can and it looks just like it was done with a gun. Still have to do the rear subframe and swingarm when I can get around to do it. I've noticed the frame doesnt radiate as much heat on my legs as it did polished.

i like different things.. the more out of the box the better.. but i dont really like polished/chromed bikes.. reminds me to much of lowriders & poseur wanna be's. & the fuzzy bikes that i hear about are probably really gay too... i like the looke of brushed aluminum.

The brushed aluminum looks more expensive or exotic and the black looks more purpose-built like the thing was made to run. Don't want to tick anybody off who does the polishing thing, just my personal opinion...

Oh yeah, titanium is super sweet!
