What seem to be the best overall plugs for our scooters? Use to run only NGK in motocross, but that's so long ago and a different type of bike as well. Anyone run Splitfires or something similar? Just curious if there is something out there that is really that much better than the rest.

Also was curious if anyone was running a K&N filter on say... a zx6e out there? Did you notice any difference in performance or mileage?

Thanx 4 the input!

The experience that I've had with Splitfires is that they don't work. In addition, I've also seen where they actually deteriorate very quickly. The commercials say you'll see gains, but remember, when you change to Splitfires, it's usually because you're old plugs are worn out, therefore any plugs will help you out. I would go with NGK or something similar to that. There's a reason that some plug companies have been around for years. As for the K&N, I've noticed a difference with it on my Harley, but the thing to remember with that is if you get more air, you're going to need to get more fuel. If the K&N or similar filter is put in without rejetting, it could actually hurt performance. If I'm completely of my rocker here fellas, pipe in.

Actually Trigger, you are right on. I ran split fire plugs for a short time in my Motocross bike and one of the sides of the groundstrap broke off and really messed up the inside of the cylinder. As to the K&N filter, well if you are just putting it in you stock airbox it will help a bit, but I really dont see it hurting performanve. remember just because the filter can flow a lot more air than stock, it is still trying to breath through the stock hole in the airbox.I have dropped these filters in my cars, my Duc, my old GSXR-750, adn unless I chopped the hell outta my airbox, or just removed it, I diddnt need to re-jet. I did re-jet after putting on full pipes and then it really made a differance.

Just my experiance. but dont by any means take it for gospel.
