Any ideas or opinions on which exhaust system offers the most "bang-for-the-buck?" Or which is the best system to use, price no object... (which it certainly is in my case). Just curious if I should save up my biscuits for the best or compromise with a good but cost friendly system. Thanks for all the input!!:D

most sv's i see have m4's on them and they're there for a reason.

great build quality. good #'s. and they support the sport.

2bros seems like another popular choice, i think because of their connection to the old honda hawk and the sv being a new version of it.

I would say M4 when cost is an issue. Micron makes a great high mount for the bike but it is a little more pricey.

Both sound great on the bike but I like the M4 sound best.

I'm quite happy with the Vance & Hines. Stainless, so maybe a bit heavier than some but @ $420 for the full system, cheaper than most. And in conjunction with stage 1 re-jetting and a K&N filter, the bike dyno'd at 72.3hp and 46.1 ft/lb torque. Motorcyclist magazine put an $800 Akrapovic on their SV project bike and didn't do any better (worse, in fact).

About the only drawback was the fit was a tad too tight where it connects to the front cylinder and getting the can onto the connecting pipe took some real muscle. The sound is very nice, not as loud as Yosh or Two Brothers, but way better than stock.

I've heard good things about M4, and a few guys in my area have Renegade high mounts. They look and sound terrific, though again, doubt if the power is any better than what the Vance & Hines puts out.

All the various systems will have their proponents, SVRider. And they're all right, too. Any of them is a big improvement over the stock exhaust.

:D :D

Thanks for all the input guys and gals... Sounds like M4 is the way to go overall. Has anyone used the CFMotorsports version off of SVRider.com? It's about $555.00 low or high mount.

Thaks again,

I believe that you can, but the stock pipe must be cut where you want to add the slip-on system. Thus not allowing you to reinstall the factory if need-be. Renegade only makes slip-ons for their SV line. I looked at the Akropovics, nice but, yes, pricey.

Renegade is the only one that requres cutting. Most are called slip-ons but are more like "half systems". I've got an M4 full high, buy one from my racing friends at http://www.cycletech.net/index2.shtml for $520.
I've also seen Micron full high systems for about $500. There's a ton of "slip-ons" for under $300, those are realistically 99% as good unless you're racing and need that last ounce of HP.

A good system?

I've got several friends with SV's and we've played with the exhaust quite a bit. The best on the dyno? Two brothers.....but not far behind in h.p. but by far the best sounding is the slip on bt Jardine. The exhaust note of this system will give any man a ----on!! Happy shopping!!

I looked for 5 minutes and found:
at Parts 411
D+D full $405
Jardine half $370
Micron full $441

at Revolution Superbikes
Ixil s/o $320

at MAW
Jardine s/o $320
Muzzy Ti or carbon s/o $460
V+H S4 full $413
Yosh s/o $284

I know there's more, but my boss expects me to get SOME work done tonight...

Is Renegade the only company that offers a high system which retains the passenger pegs? I wanted a M4, but their high mount requires removal of the passenger pegs..... :crying: And I can't have my pipes gone for two weeks with the Renegade... What dilemmas.......

I have seen a high mount Micron that would have had room for the passenger pegs. It was a race bike but the pipe tucked in far enough.
