Well...I noticed that you haven't gotten a responce in a few days, I think the reason being, is that I don't know of anyone that uses Avon tires..possibly others do..?? There was a tire comparo in the UK, in which Avon scored very low..there are better tires out there, you just need to find the brand that suit you best..:D

They don't work to bad for the drag racing thing and the price is not that bad. The softer compound Azaro (race compound) wears out quick. I had a few sets of these on my Tl1000s and they work fine for me with the soft front and the standard rear. I got about 1,500 to 2,000 out of the front and 3,000 to 4,000 out of the rear for moderate to hard abuse.

Not for Hard Riders

I've had some Azaros on my R-1. I'd say they were better fitted on a sport touring bike. They'd be just fine for that. The compound isnt very forgiving and at full lean there isnt much confidence. I dont know, thet just dont grip like some other tires do. I hd a low speed lowside because what I normally did on Dunlops I thhough I could do on the Avons, not....

I could push the traction limit alot sooner too. I know I got a 1000cc bike but even on street riding through some turns I could feel the back end starting to slip when a lot of throttle was applied.

Best bet, get something else.

I had a set on my GS500E and they were the best set I had on it. I used the bike for mainly track days and very little street riding. I rode them on the track in rain, cold day and dry and they worked great.

I have a set of Azaro II's on mine and I love them. They apparently have added alot more rubber along the middle of the tire for obvious reasons, due to earlier tire wear on previous models. When they heat up, the feel real sticky, and give me alot of confidence in the turns. I've put about 4k on them so far and they are wearing well.

cheers
