Im looking for a way to mount a couple of emergency warning lights on my bike without making it look stupid with a bunch of shit hanging off of it. If anyone has installed some form of emergency warning system on their bike i would like to see how you did it.

Why do you want that? If you're looking to use them while riding.. that's type of shit is pretty much illegal. And if you're just looking for something to switch on when the bike is sitting, I can think of plenty of stuff that would look better.

some sort of strobe in the headlight would be my guess. The only thing I can think of that would not need to be hanging off.

Volunteer Fire personell in NY are permitted to display blue emrgency signal lights while responding to a call so that they can get people the fuck out of the way and get to the fire house as quickly as possible. Voluteer Ambulance squad members are permited to display green warning signal lights for the same reason.

I've got kind of a haul from my house to the firehouse i respond out of. And people dont have a clue where the hell im trying to get to in such a hurry. I was thiking of a strobe mounted inside the air intake of the bike, something small that wont restrick the flow through it. Im really just looking for something that will be extreemly visible and easy to decifer as a warning signal, but that isnt an eyesore on the bike.

I think you are on the brinks of starting a new trend up there. Once all the kids see your bike like that, they'll have to do it. Kinda like after the movie "Fast and the Furious" was released, all the kids went out and installed huge metal spoilers on their front wheel drive ricer grinders. I have never seen a bike with lights on it, but, I do know California uses sportbikes now for their Highway patrol. You might do some research on that. I had just so happened to see a photo of a cop on an R1 I think. I asked the the motorcycle dealer where that was. He said California is the only state at the moment that uses sportbikes.

Cali isn't the only state. Well maybe. anyhow, the state troopers around colorado ride BMW 1200's. The sheriff's department got some GSXr's recently to try to catch the sportbikes. there was a complaint that a bunch of sportbikes were running hard out in the county where the city cops wouldn't screw with them, so the sheriff's department got authorized to get about 4 or 5 sportbikes to try to catch those guys

I'm a paramedic here in CA. I suggest that you put red/blue film over your "high-Beam" and flash it when you need it. Also, yelling "WOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOO!" Helps too.

Oh ok.. well that's a legit reason. I'm not sure how cops would respond to that though, unless they know you. If they saw you hauling ass with emergency lights on your bike they'd probably pull you over until they saw your ID..

I work for a local Sheriff's Dept. and work with many other agencies. I have never seen a "sportbike" used in a law enforcement capacity...

in small towns everyone knows everyone so it shouldn't be a problem. I was a voluteer fire for a short time when I was in NY but I Never put strobes on but you can if you want.

I agree.

I travel between Long Beach and the bay area every week and I have not seen any offical sportbike Cops riding in either areas. If they're out there then I'm pretty sure I'd seen 'em as I do quite a bit of driving in both locales.!
