Ads run foul of Singapore rules
The Age - March 1, 2006

SINGAPORE will get a censored version of Tourism Australia's "So where the bloody hell are you?" campaign because the advertisements do not comply with its strict censorship laws.

When the $180 million campaign is launched in Singapore, a series of Xs will replace the word bloody in print advertisements. The television version will not be aired there.

But the advertisement already appeared uncensored in Singapore's Straits Times last week, when the newspaper ran a story about the campaign.

So far 45,000 foreigners, including 24,000 Americans and 10,000 Britons, have logged on to the campaign website. Tourism Australia spokesman Sasha Grebe said extensive market research had shown the advertisements were a hit.

I think it was the general tone of the advertisment that had the censorship department worried.

I mean, think about it. If people living in Sillypore actually thought about 'where they were', even just for a moment, then it would be jump-off-big-building time, and that would be it ...... 4 million dead people do NOT generate decent taxable revenue ....

It's all about the dollars really.

PS ... If anyone has a FARK what I am on about please message me ... I'm lost?

muppets = dumb idiots, Vash

It's different to most places as there is very little if any crime.
No muggings, streets are safe day and night. You car doesn't get stolen or wrecked. Your house doesn't get looted.
There is of course, the occaisional issue. If a house gets broken into then it's front page news next day.

I think thats one of the problems with the locals. There's nobody allowed to slap them up the side of the head when they get out of line. So they just mince around not really knowing WTF is going on.

Most bikes and parts are about the same price as Europe with some parts like Ducati much cheaper here than anywhere in the world. ( well they were are few years back)

If you wanna read up or have alaugh at some of the guys doing write up check out the http://www.expatsingapore.com/cgi-bin/ubb/Ultimate.cgi

There's always some kind of shit fight going on.
