Anyone use these. If so, how do you like the fit finish of the cover? How easy was the installation? How does the cover grip-my stock seat is way slick--no Amor All) Thanks

Can't answer your question, but my friend just bought new vinyl from the local fabric store (8.50$) and redid the seat himself. He simply glued the vinyl over the old stuff and then stapled underneath! Pretty easy and I think the @nd look ones are way too expensive ?? 50$ or something ??

I did the same thing and it looks great!

I had a 2nd Look® cover on my Yellow/Black '00 F4 and it looked bad ass until it was shredded in half when I totaled my ride :(. Anyway, I bought mine from http://www.compacc.com, overpaid for it (but hey, what else do you do to your baby? :D), and I took it to a local upholstery shop who did it with his air stapler for $10. TRUST ME: an air stapler is required. I tried it with a hand stapler, and it wouldn't do a thing. Anyway, the fit and finish of the covers is excellent and they look badass too. Let us know what you decide!

Nick--Air stapler huh, I was just going to borrow a nail gun and blast away :D Good info. on that upholstery shop though. Did you notice if the cover seemed slipery or not--that's my biggest beef with the OEM seat?

nick is right,i tried to install it my self also, and a hand stapler will NOT do it ! take it to a upholster, they won't charge much.
now,..about your slippery problem,...what the h%ll are you wearing when you ride ? :D

Yeah, Clark, what are you wearing? Seriously, I think that's a valid question. I didn't find that the seat on my 929 was slippery to a fault. I don't have any knowledge of Second Look seatskins, but I'm pretty sure that they use the same marine grade vinyl as on their tankskins, which I have had two of. I think that you will find them to be stickier than OEM vinyl.

BTW, if anyone is in the market for a tankskin, go with Second Look. I had one on my VFR, and have one on my VTR. IMO, the best there is.

Normally I wear a silk thong and thigh high spike heeled boots, why do you ask? Seriously, just normal jeans...Pete, at 5K RPM I'm sure you didn't have a problem...at 10K it's a different story  . With that kind of acceleration I'm just about flying off the back of the bike.

I don't care about $50-60 to spend on a cover if it gives my ass some piece of mind :D

You can staple them with an ordinary staple gun, But it has to be the round staples, and the rounded stapler.(USE OF HAMMER MAY BE REQUIRED)

Oh, my mistake, I thought you took your riding seriously. :p

Here's an idea. I've never tried this myself so you will have to be the ginuea pig. My brother was a bull rider and they put Ralston (not sure of the spelling) on their hands before they ride. It's just this sticky stuff that they put on their hands and legs and helps give them grip. I think pro baseball players use it on their gloves. I'm not sure where to get it, but it can't be too expensive and it doesn't stain or have any color. I think it's just a powder. If you're interested I'll ask him where you get it from. I would guess a major sporting goods store like Academy would have it. Otherwise you may have to see if Corbin or some other aftermarket seat maker has a textured seat to fit your bike.

I haven't been on a 929rr in awhile, and don't remember how the saet feels, but my Second Look® seat skin gripped just fine. It didn't grip as well as my OEM seat, which I was happy about, because the F4 seats IMO are too grippy: couldn't move my ass very easily in the twisties. Anyway, I'm sure if you get one that it will grip just fine. Let us know what you decide dude. Later on...

Rug Burn,
Buy the same material that is put on the 2000 Katana seats. It has a very good grip and looks aftermarket. I always get comments about the seat. Looks like the same material used by Corbin.

Pete, how'd you guess--Hot Pink's my fav., but now there's this funny brown streak down the middle-can't figure that one out

I got my 2nd Look seat skins last week. I called around to different shops to see how much they wanted to install them. The price ranged from $20-$40--ouch. So I got some heavy duty staples from Staples ($5-for lifetime supply) and commenced to cursing and stapled that bad boy on myself. It wasn't easy by any means and took almost 2 hours--but it looks great and feels much better than the stock one--not slipping around anymore.
