I'm trying to figure out how may miles I get to a tank full. I think I figured the point at which I have to switch from my main line to the reserve line. Each time the bike gets to the point where it "bogs" down and needs more fuel I switch it over to the reserve line and it runs like normal. The bike is new to me so bear with me. The owners manual and service manual I bought doesn't go into specifics about mpg. Now, in trying to figure out the mpg for my bike I have topped of the bike, 3 times, and ran it until it gets to the point where I think I needs to be switched to the reserve line (bogged down point i'll call it). The first time I got 68 miles logged, second time I got 75 miles, and today I got up to 78 miles. A buddy of mine thinks I should get around 110-120 miles to the tank full (including the reserve fuel). So what is the average mileage you ZX7 riders get before you switch over to reserve and about how many miles can I expect to get on the reserve tank (of course riding style affects mileage). I don't want to get stuck out in the middle of no where after passing up a gas station a few miles back, know what i mean. Any help will be greatly appreiciated!

Hey not sure exactly but I normally refill every 80 miles on my bike at the most. I also don't conserve any gas. I never had to put my bike in reserve after 80 miles but I can tell it's getting close.

You should check out the ZX-7R Owners Club there are a bunch of guys who know way more about these bikes then I ever imagined :)

Hey Drei, Thanks for the link...i'll have to check it out. I seem to have about a 4-5 gallon tank and think I can get about 90 or so on the main tank. With 1.3 or so gallons, according to my service manual, on the reserve that may be about another 20 miles or so at best I think. Nice bike by the way!
