This bike was the total shit when it came out in 1986.
You're looking at 105 rear wheel horsepower and about 65 ft/lbs of torque. Quarter mile times in the 10.8-10.9 range. Top speed (radar verified) of 160-162mph. So, about as fast as the new-age 600's. But, quite a bit more comfortable.
Even in this day, a very good-looking, great for all-around, all-day, high speed touring use.

|cruzin||i have 16" rims im just trying to find out if i made a good choice when i picked this bike up i dont know anything about kawasaki bikes before i had my accident i was riding a gsxr1100 that was till i wiped it out on a metal lift bridge at about 180 kms per hour all my fault of course i knew i had a bad front tire but when you are young you know everything or at least you think so im just glad the cop passing stoped to see if i was alive all i rember is him saying oh your alive|

|Rundog||I think he's got the 1000 Ninja, not the ZX10, C.. The 1000 Ninja was good for about 162 mph, the ZX10 ran 170. 1000r power was in the mid 120s'. The 1000r ran on 16" bias ply tires while the Z had 17" front & 18" rear radials.|

The '88 ZX10 had 137hp and 76 ft.lbs of torque, so you're probably around there. Of course, age will have killed a few of those ponies.

1987 zx1000 ninja
anyone know anything about this bike hp torque aftermarket parts anything would help i just got one after a long time away from riding i had to stop after i crashed my 1100 gsxr at 180 kms per hour
