SepiasSoul MSF lessened my insurance as well. If you aren't worried about theft, damage, or personal medical, you can get away with just having liability on the bike which is usually under $500 a year. (Im buying a used bike that I'm not to concered about anything cept hittin someone else) Atleast you only need liability in FL, you might check in your state to see.

doubledjj msf also saved me some money also. If you sign up for it at a local community college it isn't expensive. I payed $110 for the class. Well worth the money, you'll learn alot and save on insurance.

slaps76 And MSF got me a discount on insurance.

Vash If you finance thru the dealership the financing will go thru household retail. They do not require insurance if the ammount financed is less than $10k. That said get some insurance. Comprehesive covers things like hail damage, theft, fire, getting knocked over, and hitting deer. Bikes get stolen a lot.

CRF_173 Yeah, but Im looking for Honda or Kawasaki, because the dealership that sponsors me for motocross is a Honda/ Kaw dealer so I get pretty good discounts on those. But if it makes my insurance almost $1500 less... Well thanks Ill check into that.

ericande If you finance through Suzuki you don't need full coverage, at least in WA.

CRF_173 Hmmm, itd be pretty nice to know which bank doesnt require it, ill do some searching. Thanks

Oh and does taking MSF knock any off insurance? And is a used bike, like 02 03 a lot cheaper than on insurance than knew.

slaps76 If you finance a bike, you'll have to have collision on it. The bank wants to insure you can still make your payments if you crash the bike.

I thought I saw someone mention here before there's a bank that doesn't require it, but I've never seen it firsthand.

CRF_173 yeah the whole insurance thing is kind of worrying me...but I think I have it covered. Instead of buying the $4,000 RX-7 I wanted, I can settle for an older, cheaper CRX and use the money I saved for insurance. If you get a loan do you have to have full coverage? I checked on progressive and for 12 months it was almost 2K, but that was with comprehensive coverage and something else I cant remember. But I took comprehensive and the other thing off, and it was around 800.
