he's my progression, may or may not work for you:

1990 Yamaha FZR600 ($1500 plus $500 repairs).

2002 Suzuki SV650... mid-$3k.

1999 Honda CBR600 F4... got a really good deal on it.

basically, if you're going cheaper than SV, you're most likely looking at older FZRs and CBRs. Secas and rebel 250s.

what else are comparable to an sv650s for a beginner rider?

I want to get an sv650s but finding affordable used ones in my area can be difficult, it'd be nice to have an alternative bike to also search for. Any suggestions?
