His_Suzuki All you Texans,
The TSBA meeting is tomorrow(15th). You can get more information at

It's not a church group, that's why they ride on Sundays.

They do quite a few track days and a yearly Texas Iron Butt thing that I think will take place here in the hill country(Leakey, TX)this year. The plans are still on the drawing board.

Cosmo Hey Mr. Valentine 1!

Which Tuesday? Tomorrow the 15th? If it's in the evening, I can make it. Where is the meeting held? Is it sportbikes, or mixed? Harley's or not? Gotta know whether or not to bathe before I show up...I like to fit in 'ya know. Seriously though,, I've never heard of this organization. Tell me more. BTW, it's not one of those "religious" kind of things, is it? This is important to me as I'm not a very religious person. Just a real nice guy with a loose right wrist! See 'ya later, Mr. 39 and counting! Just kidding.!!!!!! BTW, I took defensive driving this past Saturday. It was horrible. The instructor was a 75 year old man who meant well. When he wasn't having flashbacks about the Korean war, he was semi-amusing, but oh man, was he boring. 'Till next time....cheers.

Nope, never been, but there always a first for everything, right?

Todd started a Texas ride thread, and that topic is now in the "Looking" forum, so let's talk about getting something organized in that thread. Since I can't make Stacia's "Deal's Gap Smackdown" as I was originally planning for, a "Texas Smackdown" is in order!

hy_syde hey todd!!!

1431 is a pretty good road to hit, i was outa town sunday, else i would have tried to hook up wit u...

i've never ridden wit the TSBA guys, but i hope to make their next monthly ride.

we've got a nice lil group of sportbike nutz here in austin that like to hook up on weekends and ride ( )

i am a lil concerned bout giving off the wrong impression, i think our riding style and speeds are normal, but i'm not sure what someone new might think...

we do take it easy on most parts, but on others we really turn it up... we do have guys in our group that like to hang back and chill, wit usually a few up front that enjoy the upper limits... though none of us ride dangerous or beyond our limits.

if u guys ever want to get something 2gether let me know...

it's not that u r sloe, it's just that i'm faster than u...

Rug Burn Todd, I can't believe you didn't see me, maybe because I was home most of the day not doing a damn thing-well I did manage to detail the bike. Would have much rather been out riding. Sounds like you had a good ride though. As I was washing the bike I was thinking, "it's probably only 97F what a good day for a ride" (all you people in cooler climates take pity). I'll shoot you an e-mail and we'll get something organized. Glad you like the V1, I gotta check it out and see how big that thing is. Did it actually point out any speed traps to you on your ride? Man, I'm really bummed that I missed that ride Always next time right.

showdawg Hey Todd

An SBW ride would be cool, maybe we could have everyone meet in Luckenbach or something. Mike Benson and i rode up there today, then over to Fredricksburg and Kerville. Just a suggestion since the "heat" is still on in Bandera county. But we must insist that Pete comes to town !

His_Suzuki Cosmo,
Me and Rug Burn are trying to get a SBW - Texans ride together in the near future.

The only cord that connects me to the bike is a headphone jack to a box mounted on top of the brake reservoir.

Can you make the Texas Sportbike Association meeting this Tuesday? That's an organized group of riders.

For all Texans, the next meeting is this Tuesday in Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and DFW. If you want more info contact me

Cosmo Hey Todd,

Glad to hear about your nice ride to Marble Falls. Been up there only once and didnt' stay very long. Maybe one of these days you and I could hook up and take a ride up there. I still ride w/that bunch of guys you saw me w/one day long ago, but I don't ride w/them very often. They're a fun group and they mean well, but they are way too unorganized for me. Plus they spend too much time 'yappin and not enough time peg scratchin'!

The V1 sounds cool. I've always wondered if there was any difference between my $100 Whistler (which works fantastic IMHO) and the $350 (ouch!) V1. I'd get nervous with a wire connecting me to the bike though. I realize it's a really skinny wire, but w/my luck, it wouldn't snap if I fell off and the bike would get dragged right on top of me. That's just me though. I get nervous about stuff like that. Later.

His_Suzuki I went out to play today and try to hook up with Rug Burn, in Austin, and try my new V1 out. Never saw R.B., but I did 290 miles and the V1 mount works great. The chatterbox speakers work very well with the remote audio, sold by Valentine. I was using a scenic road map to find FM 1431 and if I would have just used a regular state map I would have saved 1 1/2 hours trying to get to this road. I went in circles and I should have just looked at a reg. map and went straight to it. Anyway, I had a nice ride, stopped in Marble Falls to watch Drag Boat racing on the Colorado River and came home. Beautiful day, extremely hot 103 degrees.
