Thanks guys! I put around 500 miles on the gixxer before I took the course. I've put around 70 on it since. I've got to say the course made a difference in the way i ride! I feel a lot more comfortable on the bike and it's honestly more fun. the twisties are a blast now cuz i know how to take them!
now I can't stay off that darn bike!

Completed the m/c safety course...
I took the course this weekend and yes i must say, everyone who states "take the course" was right! (Of course I never doubted any of you )
I had a good time througout the course and was able to "fine tune" some of my skills and completely develop others. I've ridden dirt bikes for most my youth but stopped riding about 15 years ago. I guess I had SOME experience riding, but not much. I watched 5 or 6 people who have NEVER sat on a bike learn to ride, and ride correctly. "Look through turns", "countersteering", " watch out for crazy cage drivers" etc... Some of them were really good at the end of the 2nd day! I started out kinda choppy on weaving but by the end of the day i was flying through it. By the way, I sneaked a look at the final riding test's scoring and i was number 2 in the class. My buddy who has ridden for years beat me by 3 points.
The funny thing was i thought i'd jump on the gixxer after the class and take it around the block. Going from a Suzuki GZ250 to a to my GSXR 600 is a little bit of a difference! I expected teh differences so the ride was enjoyable and SAFE.
The point to my rambling... If you're a new rider, TAKE THE COURSE!
