Gottico I don't know how you guys do it... I like winter sports (skiing, snowboarding, etc) and have lived "up north" at different times and couldn't stand the winter for any length of time. Now I just hop a flight when it time to snowboard. Winter always made my alcoholism rage out of control...

Smitty Well Dad things to pop up into the mind when one is on the board. Believe me that one about the sketching class (for adults) will never leave my memory----believe me I did not look like I was 21 yrs or age, but more like well under 15.

I agree with others about the cold weather not being such a problem when skiing (obviously snow boarding as well) compared to one walking down the street FOR the full body is in action. After all when I use to finish the days runs. when skiing, I was sweating. One walking down the street or getting out to their cage will not put the body into similiar action.

Oh, and Smitty, it's not that I didn't expect this cold, it's more the fact that I just plain HATE the cold.
He's not here now. I think he may be at his drawing class.

Smitty, that's a funny story.

I guess snowboarders, and skiiers to a lesser extent, are just naturally harder than the general population
What can I say? I'm starting to think I was meant to live in a warmer climate...there's something about snow that I just can't stand....

Yep....just got back from skiing in NH....colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra. The last day we went skiing: -20 on the mountain and that was a warm spell....a warm spell?

The day ended on a hilarious note: my girlfriend had been giving me shit all day about how she's a better skier. I told her to go ahead and gloat as she finally beat me at something. I said that as we were getting on the lift and wouldn't you know it: the lift ran over her!! I about crapped my pants laughing. She says that she's nervous of the lifts (and she's a better skier?) and got scared right before it picked her up, so she jumped and it ran over her. We still laugh about that (mostly me doing the laughing) as I have this image burned into my brain of her in a mangled fetal position with skis going in different directions and her laughing out of complete embarassment. I told her that I would have offered to help, but if I would have uttered a single word, I would have fallen out of the damn chair myself doubled over laughing.

Smitty felix: What do you expect for you live in Saskatchewan of all things? Always a cold Province for I was born in Saskatoon. After all when it came to the depression the Province of Saskatchewn was the main dust bowl of Cdn & it always is a dry place without enough snow or rain.

Still I found Winnipeg, Manitoba was the coldest due to the three rivers & all the wind PLUS the cold.

Also sampled Alberta like Edmonton, Calgary & Banff. Still like B.C. the best. It might not be like some of the warmer places in the States, but something pretty good about living in mountain terrain even if mine are not like the real mtns of Banff which I miss.

Still consider yourself lucky to not be living in Ontario or some of the more eastern Province as they have a REAL short riding period along with darn cold wearther & plenty of snow.
