Plymouth mine is also street legal. I used the Baja designs kit, but ended up changing the tail light assy, because theirs was awful. I was not as pleased with BD. They sent me the wrong wiring diagram, wrong banjo switches and then charged me for overnighting the correct ones. Otherwise, they were OK to work with and helped when I asked for it. I also had problems with the teenie weenie battery. (I think electrex uses the same setup.) It's 10 AA NiCd batteries wired in series. I ended up getting a sealed LeadAc battery like the ones used in alarm systems instead and it works fine. (Even a little better becuase it has a 1.3 AH output instead of .8 AH) The connections between the AA's on the old setup kept coming undone from the vibes. (At least I think it was the vibes...)

I do sometimes drag me feet especially when they get trapped between the bars and the ground. They slide fairly well, but I try to keep them up. They are wearing out fast. Sidi makes the boots with the sliders but they make the footing on the pegs slippery in the dirt section (so I have heard). I use my old road racing boots because i get better feel for the back brake then with my moto - x boots. I might velcro some plastic to the soles for next season

My 426 is street legal. I got the Electrex Dakar kit. It is well made and works very well. It take about 5 min to take it off for racing. they are a great company and where very helpful on the phone http://www.electrexusa.com/electrex_...2003_kits.html

do you put your foot down all the way on asphault? doesn't it kick back up at you? i saw boots from sidi (maybe) that had sliders on the soles.

also, are either of your sm's street-legal? if so, did you do the baja kit, or ????

Ducman Engine ice is not usually allowed. I run water and water wetter until I put the bike up for the winter.

Plymouth Looks like I need to find some leathers!

I can safteywire like there's no tomorrow. I was a jet mechanic for 8 years, so safteywiring is like second nature to me. The only problem is my hardware would need to all be drilled.

I currently use engine ice instead of regular coolant. I don't know if that is an acceptable substitution for water wetter or not...

Sounds like a lot of fun, but I think I will need to do some preparations to be able to run on the track...

Ducman The bike is fully safety wired with no coolant just water and water wetter. I have a baby bottle for the crank case breather, but I don't have a catch pan. I can help you safety wire. I do it all the time on my other race bikes

You have to wear full leather, sometimes you can get away with 2 sets of jeans. The SM racing series you can wear MX gear not recommend.
The trackday was put on by www.sportriders.com good group of people. I ran in the fast group and had no trouble passing people on the 426

Plymouth Nice pic!

Was that a track day? I would like to definitely try one next spring!! Do you have to have everything saftey wired and catch bottles there? Also, were leathers required, or can you wear MX gear? Who put on the event?
