RayO The swingarm is the part of the bike to which the rear wheel attaches. It is hinged (thus swings) at its forward point and the rear shock connects the swingarm to the rear frame. The rear end of the swingarm then goes up and down with the rear wheel during rear suspension travel. Most bikes have a two-sided swingarm in that the rear wheel axle attaches to something on both the left and right sides. A single-sided swingarm is just that - the rear wheel only has an attachment to one side of the bike. HTH
