Rio GP results (last GP500 race ever!)

The end of the 500 GP era has come, and who better to win the last 500 race than Valentino Rossi!!
He won by just 0.1 of a second beating a really excellent Carlos Checa in the aggregate results.
The race was stopped due to rain and Rossi won by finishing just a fraction of a second BEHIND Checa.
Poor Checa said at the interview later that he thought he had won it.
In 250 Katoh finished 1st again and his team painted his hair gold!
In 125 Manual Pogialli secured the championship by finishing 5th. He could have finished much lower and still be champion. Poor Ui saw another championship fly in front of his eyes. He was 2nd last year also.

Here s also a nice picture from the last real 500cc GP race.

well folks, that's it. the last 500 GP race.

it's too bad rain messed it up. but rossi rode brilliantly. the finish was incredible. i'm not sure why checa turned so hard. it's like he was giving rossi the win....

oh well, it's the end of an era
