I heard this story on the weekend from a guy I ride with:
A bloke from another forum, a farmer from down South, plays with turbo bikes as a hobby. He has a trick turbo 'Busa and has been involed with several of the turbo bikes around Brisbane. Very friendly and helpful bloke.
Short version of the story is....
Greg builds himself a turbo GSXR750, lots of home made parts. He gets on the 'net and buys himself an old SRAD GSXR750 in America. He pulls his turbo kit to bit, packs his bags and flies to the US with a bag of turbo parts. Bolts all his turbo kit onto his newly-acquired GSXR and heads to Bonneville Salt Flats and goes racing.....
(Anyone thinking Bert Munro?)
The world record for a MODIFIED PARTIAL STREAMLINED BLOWN GASOLINE 750CC was 210 mph / 336 kph.
Yesterday 6th Sept 08, Greg ran a best of 220mph / 354 kph and backed it up with a few other runs to get an average of 215mph / 344kph.
