Scratches in visor

I've read somewhere about buffing out scratches in one's helmet visor. Well, guess what? I have some. Can someone refresh my memory as to how I'd go about doing that, what to use...

i wouldn't say they cheap either. besides, if i replace it how long before the new one gets scratched? then i'm right back here. i'd rather repair the one i have.

What kind of helmet is it??? I buy mine for like 30 bucks and they last for 2 or more years. That sounds fine to me.

I have a shoei 900 and tried that on mine. Apparantly, it has some kind of coating on the visor. I made it worse by buffing. Be careful....
