Question Newbie washing question

Never owned a bike, and have no idea how to clean her. She's been sitting garaged for about 5 years, finally got it running, and am waiting to take my MSF course. So while I wait I thought I would give her a much needed bath. Do I just wet her down and go to town, as you would a car? Can I use the same cleaner that I use when I wash my car? Any hints/suggestions would be appreciated.

yes, you can do the same as a car. Be careful as rubbing on a dry tank will scratch it. The best thing in the world to use though, is HondaBrite. Just follow the directions....minutes later a sqeaky clean bike will emerge. (I use a shopvac that blows at 175 mph to dry it off)

don't use the power sprayer at the car wash. other than that, it's the same. btw, nice bike. i think you'll enjot it for years to come (assuming you got it running right).
