New Rider, need some Bike Ideas/Suggestions

Hey There : )

I know there's a lot of these threads already, but I've read through a few and none seem to answer my questions quite right.

I'm a new rider, and I'm looking for a nice Sport Bike for my Highschool and College years.

And I know what your thinking..."Here comes another SQUID.."

But I don't want a bike so I can rocket down the highway at 250 km/h...
I want a bike for the freedom, and the pleasure of riding.

Anyways, I'm looking at bikes to buy as my First Bike now.

The Kawasaki Ninja 250r looks good to me, however, it doesn't have the 'feel' that I'm looking for.

I'm looking for something with a little more 'oomph' if you know what I mean.

Does anybody know of a higher CC motorcycle for first timers? I still want it to have a more modern, sporty look to it.

Thank you so much for your time!

Hey there! : )

I guess from my bike, I expect something that's a joy to ride, has decent mileage, looks sexy, and has a sporty feel.

My problem is, I get really attached to things like this...I honestly couldn't buy a 250 and then sell it a couple of years later.

Any other ideas?
