Cleaning the Helmet with the right products
I have an Arai RX-7 helmet.
According to the instruction manual, which i read every page of,
Never use petrol, thinner, benzene or any other solvents.
"Use soft cloth with detergent and luke warm water solution to clean both the inside and outside of your helmet"
"Removable/replaceable cheekpads keep providing a fresh fit by washing the fabric covering when they become dirty. To wash fabric covering, put them into lukewarm water with small amount of laundry soap and wash gently by hand. Rince well with fresh water and wipe off with a soft cloth. Dry them in the shade at ambient temperature"
"Removable/replaceable interior comfort lining and chinstrap covers which are washable. To wash the comfort lining, put it into lukewarm water with small amount of laundry soap and wash gently by hand. Rince well with frsh water and wipe off with a soft cloth. Dry it in the shade at ambient temperature"
"There are many aggressive cleaners on the market, including some supposed to be specifically for use on helmet and faceshields. Arai strongly recommends that you do not use any such products to clean your helmet as some of their ingredients may have damaging effects on the ancillary plastic parts installed on it. Use only mild soap and luke warm water to clean the interior and exterior of your Arai helmet."
I was going to use basic water and plexus to clean the outside of the helmet.
Now i'm not a guy that is used to doing his laundry. I did for a while, but that was years ago, and I don't know how laundry machine works these days.
I was wondering what 'detergent' can i use for the outside of the helmet,
And what 'laundry soap' for the cheekpad/comfortliners? Like specific name products?
