Preventing Accidents

A big deal to many new riders, including myself, is the high frequency of serious/fatal crashes.

Will you agree that a large majority of serious/fatal crashes can be avoided by being supremely careful and not driving recklessly?

Yup. Those traffic schools indicate that 99% of accidents are BOTH drivers' faults and I tend to agree. Their suggestion was that if everyone drove defensively and alertly, there'd be far fewer incidents. On a bike, you definitely gotta keep your eyes peeled and make yourself visible!

I don't know about 99%, but I do agree that driving defensively will cut down on the odds of having an accident.
