Tire Width

How wide of a tire can you put on a 02 gsx-r 600 without getting a new swingarm if at all?

You can get a 190 on there, may have to trim the lowers in the rear ..? I did on my track bike..Keep in mind, that your rim is 5.5" and was made to have a 180/55/17 on there, a wider tire will not only affec the handleing, i.e. the bike will be harder to turn, but the contact patch while turning is less(not Good) for traction..

200 will fit, but you are seriously compromising handling.

what bikes come with the 190/50/17 tires as oppose to the 180/55/17? Mine has the 180, so I just wondered why.

Though my Honda 929 & 954 came stock with 190 as did a number of the larger sportbikes of '00 & to '06, I have changed them to 180, once the 190 wore out, for better handeling on the bends & twisties.
