1992 zx-7

Hey guys I wanna get my first bike and i found a pretty good deal on a 1992 ZX-7 I was looking at getting a 600, but being that the 7 is 13 years old I was thinking that I would be too much for me. Let me know if u think i'm a complete idiot and should just wait for a 600 probably a katana 600 or a SV650S. TYIA

The ZX7 made [email protected], with torque of [email protected] Wet weight was 517lb's. I don't know what 600 you are looking for but let's say a 98 GSXR600, it made 93.1bhp, with torque of 46.1ft/lb's. Wet weight was 440lb's. Of course the newer the 600, the more power and less weight.

Basically the 92 ZX7 is a good starter bike from a power/weight ratio standpoint, just because it's old and cheap. I don't know how the ergonomics (rider position) of the ZX7 or handling, so I can't comment.

A stock Suzuki SV650 puts out slightly less power, but also weighs 150 lbs less, and riders recommend this bike as a good starter, so maybe you can draw your own conclusion.

the bike is going to be elongated as apposed to the newer ones. this is good for a beginner because it makes it harder for the front tire to come off the ground. I have seen quite a few on the road with high miles. another bonus would be that you could probably sell it for what you bought it for.

even though it's longer, it still corners well. How much are they asking? have you ever rode before? dirt or street?
