I'd pick by the rider.

Wet weight was 527lb

Couldn't find any stats on a 2005, or didnt care to look that much, but i hope it's easier to come to a conclusion of the winner.

so is this 1/8 mile race, 0-100-0 race, or a track??

It's a no brainer regardless of how you measure it, there's about 10 years of difference, plus new tech for bikes like FI to compensate. The 05 weighs around 400 lbs with over 120 HP at the rear wheel.

In straightline, even a newb on current 600s can outdrag that older gixxer. Common sense.

Track is a different story.
