marks by the handle bars

do the handle bars leave marks over time ?
im looking at a 94 katana 750 cc and there is strange marks around the handle bars
the paint on the ignotion is also comeing off makes me think the bike was kept outside without a cover

Where on the handlebars? On the grips? Or on top of the triple tree? If the marks are near the ignition, they're probably scratches caused by other keys on the keychain.

Yup. The previous owner of my bike put a carbon fiber cover over the top of the triple tree, but with the other keys on my keychain there are still some marks on it. Not a big deal.

they are under the ignotion around where the forks go into a bracket

and the paint is not from a key chain its all over the ignition like everywhere its painted its chipped off its not liek key chain wear
i should take pics and post em
