Remember me??? Wife say OK!!!!

Hey guys...I don't know if you all remember me but I has several threads on how can I convince my wife to let me get a motorcycle. Well a few months have passed and now I am signed up for my MSF class!!! I can not wait!

Here is my delema...

I can not get the bike I want (YZF600R)...but I can get something else. She likes the SV650, and the Vstar Custom. I have not introduced her to the FZ1 yet...

I need some opinions on which bike I should be looking for. I will be commuting about 20 miles to work and what ever else riding I want to do with my wife. I need to know if I need a larger displacement like the FZ1 or if the SV650 or the vstar 650 will be enough bike for me?
I have heard that the VStar is good for around town, but at freeway speeds I will have a hard time maintaining this true???
I would like something that will have enough power to do 2up and still be fun.

Any advice would be great!

I don't know anything about the VStar. And the SV650 is a great bike, but not really up to the "two up" mode.

P.S. Congrats! Glad to see ya taking the MSF!

Congrats. I just got done with the course about 2 months ago, and have saved up enough scratch to get a bike. My wife likes the SV650S and the Interceptor 800. Two completely different animals, but thats what she likes. The Interceptor might be a good option for you. Smooth power delivery and good "2-up" riding. The styling is a little unique, but I like it. The FZ1 is a R1 w/ a 1/2 fairing. I doubt that anyone here would suggest it as a first bike. I for one would lean more towards the Interceptor than the SV for your situation. My wife wants a bike of her own. So it looks lke SV here I come!

I don't get it....she'll let you ride, but she has to pick out the bike??? There are plenty of great rides out there for two up riding (btw...the Yamaha YZF 600R happens to be one of them). Don't be surprised if she is heavily leaning towards the cruisers, they are much more passenger friendly. Get her to ride her own damn bike!!! That's what I did!!!
