2nd gear popping out????

Hey guys (and girls). I just purchased a 2002 Suzuki GSXR 600, and everytime i take it passed 8000 rpms from 1st and change it to 2nd gear, it pops out into neutral for no reason. Would anybody know why this happens and is there anything i can do to fix it (other than getting Suzuki to look at it which could take more than a month).

adjust the shift lever down. suzuki sets them too high and your body tightens up slightly when your on it. combined with the shifter being in the wrong position and the long throw 1-2, you're probably not getting in all the way.

if you don't know how to do this, look at the shifter. there's a rod that goes to the transmission out put shaft. you'll notice each end has a nut. loosen them up (one end is reverse threaded, so pay attention). then spin the rod and adjust accordingly. i adjusted mine pretty far down. suzuki mounts them WAY too high.
