Question Sportbike death on the 101 on Saturday night.

Anyone hear about a rider on a GSXR1000 crashing into a construction truck on the 101 on Saturday night? From what I hear the rider died and his GF on the back broke both legs and one arm.

I was told that the guy knew me as he had mentioned my name to others but they did not know his name.

Anyone know who it was or know anything more?

I've searched the local news websites with no luck.

Unhappy

I haven't heard anything and I've checked online @ Az Central and nothing. That's sucks man, I was on that 101 around 6:30pm going to the pavilions and they had some of it closed off going west bound somewhere right after the turn off to 51.

There's 2 type of riders, the 1's that have gone down & the 1's that are going down. I've been down, which one are you?

Still don't have a name yet. But from what I am hearing so far, the rider hit the wire guardrail that goes down the center of the freeway while running from the police for speeding.

His name is Jerry. Unfortunately, I never knew his last name. His girlfriend is Erica. He rode a blue/white GSXR 1000. Short italian guy, stocky upperbody. She was a little taller than him, blond hair. Just giving the description incase it might jog someone's memory. Another distinguishing detail, he had those annoying led brake lights that swirled around and flashed.

He is going to be burried in Indiana, but there is a wake/viewing tonight from 5-8 pm at Best Funeral Home, at 92nd ave and Peoria. Its just west of the 101 on Peoria.

I will attend as well. I am not sure if I knew him or not. It is sad to hear of such incidents.
