I thinking of converting my 426 to a SM. anyone know what sportbike wheel will bolt on with minimal mods. Also what suspension mods are needed. How much can you drop the front without causing handling problems. This bike would be for trackdays.

Hey man,

I'm pretty sure every sportbike wheel will not just bolt on. Every job is custom. CBR f2/f3 wheels are usually the favorite , there are lots of them. Katana rims are another cheap option.

Don't forget about matching up the caliper to the new rotors.

I wouldn't drop the front, unless you were going to drop the back also. Lowering links for the rear usually are about $100. Then depending on how much the rear was lowered (1 - 1 1/2 inches) lower the front accordingly.

Mike, check the latest issue of Sport Rider. There's an article on SM'ing a YZ400F and a WR426 that might be of some use to you.
