that would be a great time... What we are actually trying to do is have a motorcycle awareness ride thru Denver, CO. I am just starting to post on forums and we will be doing some campaigning locally once the weather warms up.

Big group rides

I'd be interested in attending.

Something you'll want to keep in mind when getting a really large group of sportbikers together- plan on somebody getting hurt!

For example, a few years ago I attended an annual sportbike rally that one of the Denver motorcycle dealers sponsored every year. They had 125 riders show up for this one. One guy put his brand new Hayabusa into a corner guardrail at triple digit speeds. Parts and chunks of the bike were scattered down the road for 100+ yards from the point of impact. We all watched as they closed the road and hauled him off in the Medivac helicopter. (he did survive) The ride then resumed and later in the day I personally witnessed two more riders go down when one guy ran into the back of another. Honestly, it was complete mayhem. Needless to say, that was the last year that shop held the event.

I guess when you mix that much testosterone, ego, and horsepower together, something bad is bound to happen!

Thanx for the info.. I wasn't thinking about that. We still would like to organize a ride and hope for the best. Injuries and crashing would be counter productive to the cause so hopefully we can get everyone on the same page. It's about 'Motorcycle Awareness' not ego stroking..... there will be plenty of time for that all summer long.

Thunder in the Rockies will be on Aug. 31. I know its predominantly HD's but it would still be fun to get a bunch of people together for a ride.
