Hey don't complain! I'm stuck in southern Saskatchewan. At least you have the Black Hills in your backyard, here all we do here for excitement is pose at the local 7-11 store.

How are the roads in the Black Hills? Some weekend I want to ride in the Hills but with over 400 miles to get there and home I don't have the time to check out every road till I find the best ones. Which ones are the best? I want to come end of the month perhaps, before it gets invaded by tourists.

Well I made it to the Hills a few weekends ago, boring ride to get there, but so worth it when we got there.

Vanocker Canyon Rd. Thanks to the rider at a gas station in Deadwood, definatly a road to take, kinda hidden from most traffic, hey, try to keep it that way.
Highway #16 is pretty sweet as well, but to many tourists going to Mt. Rushmore.
Custer State Park Wildlife Loop. Not many blind corners, inprove the surface a bit and it would be perfect, grass not rocks to go off in.
Needles Highway, a bit narrow in places, with blind corners, so we never pushed it to hard there.
It was nice to be able to wear all of my tire for a change, a rare occurance in this area.

Very good place to ride indeed. I rode California Highway #1, and a few others on the west coast last summer, but the roads in the Black Hills are not far behind.

next time in this area you guys should stop at the rockin r in hermosa, great food coarse i might be a little bias, but i would love to ride with you guys but i am taking my bike to the extreme right now. i have it stripped down and getting ready to do some real fabercation on it and make it truly one of a kind. i am thinking of buying a cruiser just to keep up with my best friend god you should see his chopper we built it from ground up, but i don't have the time to build me one so i'll just buy i and go from there

Start at hwy 16 (across from reptile gardens), then go to Keystone.
